Risperdal (risperidone) is a medication used to treat tics in children, which can bring about a significant reduction in the severity of symptoms.

Side effects include drowsiness, weight gain, impaired concentration, and the risk of tardive dyskinesia with long-term use. Therefore, treatment should be carried out under strict medical supervision, and behavioural therapy should be considered as an adjunct to pharmacotherapy. Regular monitoring of the patient is crucial to assess the effectiveness of treatment and minimize the risk of side effects.
