Both drugs contain different active substances, they are not the same drugs.

The active ingredient in Oriven is venlafaxine, an antidepressant. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of the reuptake of hormones such as serotonin and norepinephrine and, to a lesser extent, dopamine. Thus, it increases the concentration of these hormones in the brain. Venlafaxine is indicated for the treatment and prevention of major depressive episodes, generalized anxiety disorder, social phobia and anxiety disorder with anxiety attacks (with or without agoraphobia).

The active ingredient in Bupropion Neuraxpharm is bupropion, an antidepressant. Its mechanism of action is based on inhibiting the reuptake of hormones such as dopamine and noradrenaline, increasing their concentration in the brain. It is indicated for the treatment of major episodes of depression.

If your doctor tells you to stop taking Venlafaxine (Oriven), it is important to do so gradually. It is recommended that the dose be gradually reduced over a period of at least 1 to 2 weeks to reduce the risk of withdrawal reactions. The most commonly observed symptoms include dizziness, but also sensory disturbances (paresthesia), sleep disorders (insomnia and intense dreams), anxiety or agitation, nausea or vomiting, tremors, headache, hypertension and visual disturbances. They are usually mild to moderate, but some patients also have a more severe course. These symptoms usually occur within the first few days after stopping treatment, usually disappear spontaneously within 2 weeks, but in some people they may take longer (e.g. more than 2-3 months). If you stopped taking the medication immediately, it may have contributed to the currently observed increased dizziness.

In the treatment of vertigo, different therapeutic procedures are usually used, e.g. drugs that inhibit the central nervous system, drugs that affect blood vessels or neuroprotective drugs. I encourage you to consult a doctor who will choose the right treatment in your case, taking into account your health condition and the medications you are taking.
