Prolia may be an effective treatment for severe osteoporosis in patients after chemotherapy, however, before deciding to use it, the doctor should evaluate the benefits and potential risks of the therapy (m.in. osteonecrosis of the jaw, an increased risk of infections that can be dangerous for patients with weakened immune systems after chemotherapy), taking into account the patient's current state of health.

Prolia (denosumab) is a medication used to treat osteoporosis, especially in people at high risk of fractures. It is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits the action of osteoclasts – cells responsible for bone resorption, which leads to an increase in bone mineral density and a reduced risk of fractures. In patients who have undergone chemotherapy, the use of Prolia may be beneficial in preventing further bone loss and reducing the risk of fractures.
