Yes, amitriptyline can raise the heart rate because it blocks cholinergic receptors, leading to tachycardia. If you experience an increased heart rate as a result of taking the drug and this side effect is bothersome/worrying for you - I would recommend contacting a doctor. You may need to change your medication to a different one.
