Can I get bleeding after taking Ellaone and how do I continue to use the contraceptive pills?
9.99 zł

I'm taking combined contraception-contraception, yesterday I took the EllaOne pill, today I'm bleeding.
Is this bleeding a period? I don't know what to do now, should I stop taking birth control pills? However, should I continue to the end of the already opened blister? If not, when should I start a new pack?

Bleeding may be due to the effects of Ellaone (mid-cycle spotting is listed in the summary of product characteristics as possible side effects). You should not discontinue contraception if you are taking it permanently, but it is worth remembering that Ellaone may affect the effectiveness of the combined pill, so you should use additional protection methods (e.g. a condom) until the end of the cycle. A withdrawal bleeding break should be taken after the pack is finished. You should start a new blister according to the current procedure.
