Is it possible to exchange a drug for one with a longer expiration date if the drug has a shorter expiration date than the period for which it is to be used?
9.99 zł

Good morning. I bought Alergovit at the pharmacy to start desensitizing my son. Desensitization is expected to start in October and last until February. I have just seen that the drug released in the pharmacy has an expiration date of December 2024, so it cannot be used for the entire desensitization period. In this case, is it possible to replace the drug with one with a longer expiration date?

If the drug has a shorter expiry date than the period for which it is to be used, it is worth contacting the pharmacy where the prescription was filled. They may be able to replace the drug with one with a longer expiration date (if one is available). Please remember to bring your receipt and prescription code with you. A pharmacy can only make a replacement if the drug has not yet been opened. If packages with a longer expiry date are not available, it may be necessary to consult your attending physician.
