The medicine used to treat monkeypox (called Mpox) is Tecovirimat SIGA. The preparation contains tecovirimate, which inhibits the spread of the virus in the human body. In Poland, this drug is available only as part of targeted import. Preliminary results from clinical trials suggest that tecovirimat may not be effective against this variant of the Mpox virus. We are currently waiting for the detailed results of the tests conducted by the manufacturer.
