Good morning, at the moment I'm in the Netherlands and I have no way to call the doctor who prescribed me medication and I have a question because I took the antibiotic amoxiklav 875+125 and metronidazole for 2 weeks and after 2 weeks I still have metronidazole for 2 weeks and I don't know if I should continue taking it or not (I have helicobacter pylori)

I don't think taking Metronidazole for 4 weeks without consulting your doctor is the right solution. Standard treatment should last 14 days. Metronidazole can cause a number of side effects such as intestinal discomfort, visual disturbances, dizziness and drowsiness, but not every patient will experience such problems. After the end of treatment, the side effects subside. Throughout the treatment (and a few days after its completion), you should refrain from drinking alcohol due to the significant severity of side effects.

Okay, and I may have some problems using matrenidazole for more than 2 weeks because I'm afraid to use it for 4 weeks that something might happen wrong and irreversible

Theoretically (according to the guidelines of most gastroenterological communities), the optimal duration of triple treatment (i.e. based on Amoxyclav, Metronidazole and a protective drug) is 14 days. If you have been prescribed more Metronidazole, you should determine if there was a mistake (e.g. in the dosage or prescription) or if your doctor has developed a different treatment regimen. It should be remembered that probiotics must be used throughout the treatment (and preferably also for some time after its completion). Examples of probiotics recommended during H. Pylori eradication:

After 4-6 weeks from the end of treatment, a test should be performed to assess the effectiveness of the therapy. The optimal control is a breath or urease test (performed during a gastroscopy).
