There are no contraindications to Dong Quai supplementation and Real Pharm Antidepres when using the Polaring IUD. The ingredients of these preparations do not interact significantly that would affect the effectiveness of contraception.

Dong Quai and saffron flower extract (an ingredient of Real Pharm Antidepres) contain phytoestrogens and other bioactive compounds that inhibit the activity of certain isoenzymes (e.g. CYP3A4), which may increase the action of hormones. However, this does not weaken the contraceptive effect, but side effects such as spotting may occur. It is worth paying attention to this and if spotting occurs, stop supplementation.
