Good morning
I'm 46 years old, I'm taking Vibin contraceptive pills
due to weak hair, the dermatologist recommended the dietary supplement Kerabione Booster
It contains, m.in, saw palmetto fruit extract
Won't this preparation reduce the effectiveness of contraception?
Will contraception be preserved?
I will be grateful for your help
Thank you

There is no solid scientific evidence to suggest that saw palmetto weakens the effectiveness of hormonal contraception. However, because it can affect hormone levels, there is a theoretical risk that it could reduce the effectiveness of certain contraceptive methods, including the pill. If you are concerned about such an effect, I recommend keeping a time interval between preparations - about 4-5 hours. I also suggest considering a hair condition product that is not based on saw palmetto, e.g. Vitabella or Kerabione in the standard version.
