Acarizax is used to treat a known allergy to dust mites in house dust (especially in the case of symptoms such as asthma flare-ups or chronic rhinitis). The effectiveness of the drug has been proven in the treatment of the above disease entity.

Like all medicines, Acarizax can cause side effects. During the treatment, attention should be paid to a possible exacerbation of asthma symptoms or the occurrence of a local allergic reaction in the mouth and throat. In the event of severe irritation of the esophagus, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

Information in the summary of product characteristics:

"ACARIZAX is an allergen immunotherapy. Allergen immunotherapy with products containing the allergen consists in systematically administering the allergen to allergic people, which is aimed at modifying the immune response to the allergen."

"Mild to moderate local allergic reactions are primarily expected after administration of ACARIZAX, which may occur within the first few days and again during continued treatment (1-3 months). For most reactions, they should be expected to start within 5 minutes after each use of ACARIZAX and to resolve within minutes to hours."
