Maxicortan contains prednisolone, a synthetic corticosteroid used primarily to treat inflammation and allergies, including topical skin ointment or cream.
When Maxicortan is applied to the skin, it is absorbed in minimal amounts, especially if it is applied to small areas and for short periods of time. With this form of administration, the risk that the drug will affect blood/urine tests is negligible.
