Verospiron (spironolactone) is a diuretic and aldosterone antagonist used to treat high blood pressure, chronic heart failure and oedema.

Spironolactone and its metabolites are excreted primarily by the kidneys. Usually, it may take a few days after the end of therapy to completely remove the medication from the body. This time depends on the function of the kidneys and the individual characteristics of the patient.
