If I still have a lot of mucus after taking Ellaone for 5 days after taking Ellaone, can it be a symptom of pregnancy and fertilization? It was taken at a time when fertile mucus had already appeared
Best regards

Of course, I understand the concerns, but please keep in mind that taking EllaOne up to 48 hours (2 days) after intercourse still provides a high effectiveness of around 95%. Greetings and I wish you all the best :)

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure because the condom had a hole, so something could have come out. And the pill taken after such a time, however, significantly reduces its effectiveness. Anyway, thank you for your reply. Best regards

I do not know of any cases where mucus after taking the EllaOne pill is a harbinger of pregnancy. Vaginal discharge is listed in the leaflet of the drug as a possible side effect after its use, so such a reaction of the body is possible. If you had intercourse with a condom, and you also used the EllaOne pill after 40 hours (so also quite quickly, the limit is 120 hours) - in my opinion, you have no reason to worry.

Do you know how long this mucus lasts in the event of pregnancy?

Unfortunately, it was not until 40 hours after. Do you know of a case where a pill caused such a symptom? I read that its side effects can last 5-7 days. On the other hand, the chances of a possible pregnancy will probably be lower than with regular intercourse, because there is a 3mm hole on the condom and the partner has not cumulated.

Changes in cervical mucus may be one of the early signs of pregnancy, but they are not a clear indicator on their own. It's hard for me to say how many cases of pregnancies, mucus turned out to be a reliable indicator. The effectiveness of EllaOne is high, especially if taken as soon as possible after intercourse, preferably within the first 24 hours after intercourse. How long did it take for you to take the medicine?

Yes, the drug was taken at that time. Has it often happened that such mucus meant pregnancy

Was the drug taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after sex? If so, its effectiveness in this time frame is very high. The presence of mucus after taking Ellaone (the morning after pill) is not an unequivocal sign of pregnancy. Ellaone works by delaying ovulation, and changes in cervical mucus can be caused by hormonal fluctuations, which are normal after taking an emergency pill. Cervical mucus can change for a variety of reasons, such as the menstrual cycle, stress, and other hormonal factors.

If you are worried about the possibility of pregnancy, the most reliable way to confirm or rule out pregnancy is to take a pregnancy test, which can usually be done about 10-14 days after possible conception. In case of any doubts or worrying symptoms, it is worth consulting a doctor.
