Can I use sunscreen on Protopic?
9.99 zł

I was given Protopic for an allergic reaction (related to the sun and cream on my face). Protopic helps me a lot and everything is practically gone, but I have to take the drug for another week.
I would like to ask how long after applying the ointment to the cheeks can I apply sunscreen? My face is sticky after protopic, can I apply sunscreen on a slightly sticky face or do I need to wash off the ointment first? Unfortunately, there is no exact information on the leaflet.

Yes, you can apply sunscreen (sunscreen) to the skin on which Protopic (tacrolimus) ointment is applied. Protopic is a topical immunosuppressant, most commonly used to treat atopic dermatitis (eczema).
However, it is important to follow the correct order of application of these products: you should first apply Protopic ointment to clean skin and let it absorb for a few minutes. After the ointment is absorbed, you can apply sunscreen.

When using Protopic, it is recommended to avoid exposure to sunlight and artificial sources of UV radiation (e.g. tanning beds), as the drug may increase the sensitivity of the skin to UV radiation. Using sunscreen with a high SPF (preferably 30 or higher) is an extra precaution if sun exposure is unavoidable.
