Is dark brown spotting normal in the first month of using NuvaRing?

I was supposed to have my period on August 9th. and enter Nuvaring for the first time instead I had the first spots on August 1st... I inserted the ring but now I have the doubt that it is spotting due to some follicle.. What's going on.. Is it the same?I noticed that the discharge is dark brown.. could you give me some clarification?thanks

The spotting you have noticed may be a normal side effect of using NuvaRing, especially in the first few months of use. Many people experience spotting or irregular bleeding as their body adjusts to the hormones in the disc.

The dark brown discharge is often old, dried bleeding that is pushed out of the uterus. It is also a normal reaction to starting a new contraceptive method. If the spotting persists for more than 3 months or is very bothersome, you should consult a doctor to assess the cause and consider changing your contraceptive method.
