If I am using Vibin mini and the condom broke and I ejaculate during intercourse, should I take emergency contraception?

Today during intercourse the condom broke and I ejaculated. I have been using Vibin mini contraceptive pills regularly for over a month. What is the probability that fertilization may have occurred? Should I use emergency contraception (e.g. EllaOne)?

Yes. After taking EllaOne, you should continue to use Vibin Mini as scheduled. EllaOne acts as an emergency pill and does not affect the effectiveness of long-term hormonal contraception such as Vibin Mini.

Can I take hormonal contraception normally the next day after taking ellaone?

No, Ellaone/Escapelle does not adversely affect the effectiveness of oral hormonal contraception.

If I decided to take EllaOne, would it negatively affect the contraceptive pill I had already taken?

If you take the pills every day, at the same time, without skipping - the risk of getting pregnant despite a broken condom is really negligible. Ideally, when the tablets are taken exactly as prescribed (at the same time each day without missing a dose), the failure rate is about 0.1% per year. This means that less than 1 in 1,000 women using this method will become pregnant within a year. If it stresses you out and affects your mental comfort - you may consider taking the morning after pill. Please remember the correct time to take the drug: Escapelle is most effective when taken up to 72 hours (3 days) after sex, ellaOne is most effective when taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after sex.
The decision is yours, but in my opinion (as long as the pills were used correctly) there is no reason to take emergency contraception.
