The attending physician is also unable to determine whether this is a side effect, but claims that after such a long time of using a fixed dose it is not possible

Thank you for sharing your case. The appearance of bruise-like spots on the hands and legs may be associated with the use of Lamitrin (lamotrigine). Although not a common side effect, skin reactions are a known potential side effect of this drug.

Lamotrigine can cause a variety of skin reactions, from mild rashes to more serious conditions. The appearance of new skin symptoms after long-term use of the drug should be consulted with a doctor. I encourage you to report the symptoms you experience to your doctor, as well as to report the occurrence of an adverse effect of the preparation. Reporting side effects allows you to increase control over medicines available on the market. We wrote more about how and why to report side effects in the article:

Although your tests are normal, which is positive, continuous monitoring is important, especially with long-term use of the drug. I encourage you to consult your attending physician. Only a specialist can assess whether the symptoms are related to the drug and whether modification of the therapy is required. Do not stop treatment yourself. Abrupt discontinuation of lamotrigine may cause a recurrence of epileptic seizures. Any changes in dosage should be made under close medical supervision.

If you are unable to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:
