Good morning. I suddenly stopped taking depratal 60 mg per day in the morning and latudy 74 mg as directed by my doctor. I started taking fluanxol 0.5 in the morning and during the day. The next day there was an unpleasant sound and noise in the head at the slightest movement of the body. Contact with a doctor is not possible at the moment. What to do about it. Go back to previous medications?

Yes. The doctor ordered me to stop taking these pills after a month. Because there was dizziness and a daily headache. The discontinuation of the medication was 6 days ago and the next day this sound and tinnitus appeared in the ears and head. Even when I turn my head or eyes. When I walk, it makes my head spin. A doctor will be available in two weeks. I take pragiole sympramol at night to at least fall asleep faster.

Is the doctor sure that he or she recommended abrupt discontinuation of both drugs? If you need to stop taking Depratal, you should stop taking it gradually over a period of not less than two weeks. Abrupt discontinuation of this medication often causes withdrawal symptoms, which can be mild or moderate, but also severe and last for a longer period of time. Disorders of the ear and labyrinth, including tinnitus, can be one of these symptoms. Withdrawal symptoms appear within the first few days after discontinuation of treatment and generally resolve spontaneously, usually within 2 weeks, although in some patients they may persist longer (2-3 months or longer).

If your doctor has prescribed a different treatment regimen, do not go back to your previous medications on your own. Please observe your health and report any side effects you observe to your doctor. It is also worth reporting them individually - we write about why adverse drug reactions should be reported here:
