Is the severity of anxiety and derealization a normal reaction at the beginning of treatment with Duloxetine and Pragiola?

Good morning, for 9 days I have been taking duloxetine zentiva 30mg in the morning and pragiola 50mg. Anxiety and derealization have weakened a bit since taking the medication. In general, everything was going in the right direction. Tonight, however, the symptoms have worsened to such an extent that I am very worried that I am immune to these medications and they do not help. Is this normal in the first days of treatment? Thank you for sharing your experience. What you describe is quite typical in the initial phase of treatment with antidepressants and anxiolytics.

Please remember that the effects of treatment are not immediate. The full therapeutic effect of these drugs develops gradually, usually over 2-4 weeks. A temporary intensification of symptoms does not mean that the treatment is ineffective.

Please do not be discouraged by the temporary deterioration. It is normal for fluctuations to occur during treatment. It is important to stay in touch with your doctor and keep them informed of any changes in how you feel. If you have any further doubts, it is worth consulting your attending physician.

Please remember that pharmacotherapy only supports the treatment, usually affecting only the symptoms. The proper treatment is psychotherapy, which deals with the causes and is designed to lead the patient to healthy functioning, also without the use of drugs. Treatment of difficulties in the area of psychological functioning only with pharmacological agents carries the risk of intensification of symptoms after discontinuation of medication and or shortly thereafter. If you have not started psychotherapy (apart from taking medication), I encourage you to make an appointment for a consultation with an appropriate specialist.
