Can I go back to IPP after the completion of H.pylori eradication?
9.99 zł

Good evening!
For several hours I have been feeling a burning sensation in my stomach and lower part of the esophagus. I have been diagnosed with gastric erosion and heligobacter. I've already undergone antibiotic therapy. I put off the PPI medication 2 weeks ago to do a heligobacter test. Unfortunately, today I started the ailments and nausea described above. In this situation, should we return to PPIs, i.e. helicid, and perform a heligobacter test after some time?

Yes, it is possible to return to the use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) after the end of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication treatment, but their long-term use should be consulted with a doctor each time.

If the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), gastric or duodenal ulcer disease return after discontinuation of H. pylori treatment, resumption of PPIs may be warranted.

In some cases, lifestyle and dietary changes can also help manage symptoms of acid reflux or other stomach problems, which can reduce the need for long-term PPIs.
