After the patch is removed, the serum concentration of buprenorphine decreases continuously - after about 30 hours (from 10 to 36 p.m.), the concentration of the drug drops by half. The drug will therefore not disappear from the blood immediately after removing the patch, but the side effects should gradually improve.

Due to the persistent absorption of buprenorphine from the skin after removal of the transdermal patch, the excretion is slower than, for example, after intravenous use of this drug. It is assumed that full elimination can last 5-8 days.

It is worth consulting your attending physician and considering changing your painkiller to a non-opioid one.
