Taking the combined pill, i.e. oral hormonal contraception (containing estrogen and progestin), 2 hours earlier than usual is usually not problematic and should not significantly affect its effectiveness. Most combined contraceptive pills have a window of up to 12 hours in which they can be taken without losing effectiveness. However, it is worth using the pills at a fixed time to keep the level of hormones in the body at a constant level.
