Hello, if I noticed a small scratch on the ring when removing the ginoring ring for a 7-day break from withdrawal, has the contraceptive protection been maintained? The disc didn't break, but I don't know when this scratch appeared. During this time, I had intercourse without any other protection.

It is difficult to assess whether the change visible on the disc has an impact on the contraceptive effectiveness of the preparation. The manufacturer does not provide precise information as to what type of damage may cause the weakening of the effect of the medicinal product. It should be assumed that a scratch in the ring may interfere with the release of the active substance. In such a situation, pregnancy should be ruled out before the next Ginoring is inserted (although I don't think there is a high risk of conception in the meantime). For the first week of the next cycle, I suggest using a condom during intercourse (manufacturer's recommendations).
Information contained in the summary of product characteristics:
"Damage to the vaginal Ginoring therapeutic system has been reported during use. Damage to the vaginal wall has been reported due to damage to the vaginal therapeutic system. In this case, the patient should remove the damaged vaginal therapeutic system and put on a new one as soon as possible, additionally using barrier contraceptive methods, such as a male condom, for the next 7 days. Make sure you are not pregnant and you should contact your doctor."
