Sulfasalazine is a drug used primarily to treat inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, as well as rheumatoid arthritis. Although it is an effective drug, it can cause various side effects.
Seizures are not a common side effect of sulfasalazine, but they may occur in rare cases. According to the available data and medical literature, seizures are a very rarely reported side effect of this medicine. The occurrence of seizures may be related to hypersensitivity to the drug or interactions with other medicines that the patient may be taking.
