Signopam (temazepam) may be helpful in alleviating some of the symptoms of vegetative neurosis, especially in the case of sleep disorders and increased anxiety.

However, it is not the drug of first choice in the treatment of this condition. Benzodiazepines, such as Signopam, are usually used for short term use due to the risk of dependence. In the treatment of vegetative neurosis, a comprehensive approach is preferred, combining pharmacotherapy (often with the use of SSRIs) with psychotherapy. Treatment of difficulties in the area of psychological functioning only with pharmacological agents carries the risk of intensification of symptoms after discontinuation of medication and or shortly thereafter.
