Isn't Levoxa 2x500mg for 7 days too high a dose for otitis?

Hello.Today I ordered the third antyb.na medic drug Levox 500mg. Previously, laryng.ordered Amotaxes 2x1.0 g for 7 days, with no effect. Then the Cefox 2x20mg primary medicine – also without effect. And from today Levoxa 2x500mg (for 7 days). I'm nervous if it's not too high a DOSE.???

I understand your concern about this situation. In your case, the doctor decided to take Levox after the failure of Amoxicillin (Amotax) and Cefuroxime (Cefox) therapy. Levofloxacin may be more effective at fighting resistant bacteria that have not responded to previous antibiotics.

Levofloxacin (Levox) is a powerful fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including otitis media. The standard adult dose for severe infections is 500 mg twice a day, for 7-14 days, depending on the severity and type of infection. It is worth remembering that you should not change the dosage prescribed by your doctor yourself. Take this medicine as prescribed, usually at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after a meal.

If you have doubts about this situation, it is always worth consulting a doctor who can provide more personalized advice. If you are not able to make a face-to-face visit, I attach a link to the online teleconsultation:

User questions and answers that provide feedback about products are not verified for the purchase or use of the product. Companies often order anonymous comments to form positive opinions about their products, or negative ones about competitors. Therefore, be guided by the information in the pharmacists' responses in the first place.
