How to safely discontinue Clonazepam?

Good morning, I take clonozepam half a tablet of 2mg a day for over a year
Recently I wanted to stop taking the drug, I got strong muscle cramps, vibrating, and I reacted very nervously to external stimuli (sounds, people's conversations). How to safely discontinue the drug? Thank you

Do not stop taking clonazepam without your doctor's knowledge and recommendation.

If your doctor decides to stop treatment, the dose should be reduced gradually. Discontinuation of the drug consists in taking smaller and smaller doses of the preparation for an appropriate period of time. The process of discontinuation of the drug (subsequent doses and duration of their use) is tailored directly to the individual patient.

Abrupt discontinuation of treatment may result in withdrawal symptoms, which may include headaches, muscle pain, increased anxiety, tension, excitement, restlessness, confusion, sleep disturbances, irritability. In some patients, more severe symptoms are also observed, such as loss of sense of reality, personality disorders, hypersensitivity to sound, touch, light, noise, tingling sensation and numbness in the limbs, hallucinations and delusions, epileptic seizures.

Withdrawal symptoms are more severe when the treatment is suddenly interrupted for a long time or when high doses of the drug were taken.
