Please remember that the results of laboratory tests should be interpreted under the supervision of a specialist. The patient's general health, medical history, and current symptoms should also be taken into account. It is difficult to give a specific answer based only on a photo and on the basis of such a short description.

However, elevated insulin levels one hour after the glucose tolerance test may indicate potential problems related to the body's carbohydrate metabolism, including insulin resistance (a condition in which the body's cells show reduced sensitivity to insulin). As a result, the pancreas produces more insulin to lower blood glucose levels.

It may also indicate glucose metabolism disorders - the early stage of type 2 diabetes or prediabetes, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) - a hormonal disorder often associated with insulin resistance.

It is worth remembering that an accurate diagnosis should be made by a doctor based on the full clinical picture, including the results of other tests and symptoms reported by the patient.

Metformax SR 500 (metformin) is not only used to treat type 2 diabetes, but can also be prescribed for other cases, such as polycystic ovary syndrome or insulin resistance, which may be related to difficulties in getting pregnant.

The use of Metformin in difficulties in getting pregnant is an example of off-label treatment. The doctor has the right to use the drug on the basis of his or her best knowledge and experience, and not on the basis of the manufacturer's indications. It is also a common practice. We wrote more about it here:

When it comes to discontinuing the drug, you should not stop taking metformin without consulting your doctor. The best way to stop taking the drug is to gradually reduce the dose under medical supervision.

When it comes to alcohol consumption, Metformin interacts with alcohol, which can increase the risk of lactic acidosis - a rare but serious side effect. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption while taking metformin.
After stopping the drug, you should wait at least 24-48 hours before consuming alcohol so that metformin is completely removed from the body.

Since you have 12 tablets left from the end of the 3-month treatment, it is best to complete the prescribed treatment cycle. After the treatment, please consult your doctor to assess the effects of the treatment and determine further action.
