JThe drug Jardiance is said to be diuretic... how often and at what intervals?
Does anyone have experience with this?
I don't have diabetes and I was prescribed it because of kidney failure.

Because of the mechanism of action of empagliflozin (the active substance in Jardiance), its effectiveness is based on kidney function. Patients with significantly reduced kidney function should be avoided and renal function should be monitored and cautioned in patients with renal impairment.
According to the manufacturer:
"The overall incidence of urinary tract infections reported as an adverse event was similar in patients receiving empagliflozin 25 mg and placebo, and higher in patients receiving empagliflozin 10 mg. Complicated urinary tract infections (e.g. pyelonephritis or diuretic sepsis) occurred at similar frequencies in patients receiving empagliflozin and placebo. However, temporary suspension of empagliflozin treatment in patients with complicated urinary tract infections should be considered."
If you observe pollakiuria during treatment - it is worth consulting your doctor.
Side effects observed should be reported to the doctor, who will decide on further treatment.
