Treatment of venous ulcers should be consulted with a wound care specialist. An examination and full diagnostics of the wound should be carried out - the cause of the ulcer should be assessed based on the medical history, peripheral arteries and veins should be assessed, and tests for chronic venous insufficiency should be performed.

The selection of the local treatment method and type of dressing is made on the basis of the phase of the healing process. First, the ulcer should be properly cleaned. As I mentioned at the beginning, the treatment of venous ulcers requires appropriate and detailed diagnostics, so it is worth going to a specialist who will have the opportunity to examine them. Only individually selected treatment will allow the lesion to heal faster.
