I have severe side effects from the Evra patch. I want to change the patch to tablets (Novynette) in the middle of the cycle (day 8). Can I peel off the patch and start taking the pills before day 22?

Recommendations for changing hormonal contraception:
"If the patient has previously received a vaginal or transdermal patch, she should start taking Novynette on the day of removal of the system, and at the latest on the day of the next use. No additional contraceptive methods are required."
If the side effects are so severe that you cannot continue to use Evra, remove the patch and start taking the tablets on the first day of the next cycle (after one month), i.e. on day 1 of a naturally occurring period. The contraceptive efficacy of Novynette will then be maintained from the moment you take the first pill.
