Why Zoely is commercially available if it can cause a brain tumor ?

Good morning, but if Zoely can cause a brain tumor, why is it still on the market?

Please remember that any drug carries a risk of side effects in patients who use it. This is not a reason to withdraw the drug from the market.

It is the doctor who decides whether the positive effects of introducing the drug into therapy outweigh the risk of side effects.

Please note that Zoely does not cause a brain tumour, but is only contraindicated for use in patients with cancer.

Among the side effects of hormonal contraception, particular attention is paid to the increased risk of arterial and venous thromboembolic and thromboembolic events, including myocardial infarction, stroke, transient cerebral ischemic attacks, venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
