I was prescribed Forxiga 10mg for heart failure. I just had an e-cardioversion and an artificial heart valve. My blood sugar is fine. I read through the side effects and am now very unsure whether I should take it or not.

Given your recent cardioversion and artificial heart valve, it is very important to discuss your concerns directly with your treating doctor. Your doctor can explain why he or she thinks Forxigi's benefits outweigh the potential risks for you. Do not stop or change your prescribed treatment on your own without talking to your doctor.
Forxiga is a medication that can be used to treat heart failure, even in patients without diabetes. Dapagliflozin, the active ingredient in Forxiga, has a beneficial effect on heart function in patients with heart failure. It reduces the load on the left ventricle of the heart, improves myocardial metabolism and has a beneficial effect on heart remodeling.
Forxiga is indicated for the treatment of chronic heart failure in adult patients with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF≤40%) and persistent symptoms of the disease despite standard therapy.
Like all medicines, Forxiga can cause side effects, but not everybody gets them. The most common side effects are an increased risk of urinary tract infections and genital mycosis.
