Yes, they do not affect the effectiveness of birth control pills.
Yes, they can cause, m.in irritation, itching, burning - especially ichthyol ointment.
So both ointments used on open wounds will not affect the effectiveness of the pills ?
but they can cause other ailments ?

SutriHeal Forte 5% ointment does not contain St. John's wort and its use does not affect the effectiveness of contraceptive pills.
SutriHeal Forte 5% is an ointment containing natural Norwegian spruce resin (Picea abies), which contains compounds that accelerate wound healing.
According to the manufacturer:
"The ointment should not be used in conditions where large amounts of polyethylene glycol can be absorbed, especially in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment." If you are a healthy person (without kidney disease) - there is no reason to worry, the ointment can be applied directly to the wound.
As for the ichthyol ointment mentioned in the question, although it does not affect the effectiveness of contraception - it should not be used on damaged skin, including open wounds.
