Sertraline (Setaloft) reaches peak plasma concentrations typically within 4.5 to 8.4 hours after oral administration. After taking the tablet, sertraline is gradually absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, leading to an increase in its concentration in the blood until it reaches a maximum level. Once the maximum concentration is reached, the level of sertraline in the blood begins to gradually decrease, but thanks to its long half-life (about 26 hours), the drug maintains its effect around the clock.
