Amoxicillin (Amotax), is an antibiotic belonging to the penicillin group, used to treat various bacterial infections. However, the common cold is caused by viruses, and antibiotics such as amoxicillin are not effective in treating viral infections.
Was the use of Amotax a clear recommendation of the doctor? Food/liver poisoning itself is not a contraindication to the use of medication, but in the light of the information written above - if the drug was not prescribed by your doctor and you want to take it on your own - it is a bad idea.
Treating a cold is mainly about relieving symptoms, as the common cold is a viral infection that usually goes away on its own within a few days to a week. You can use antipyretics/painkillers, rest a lot and stay hydrated.
