The drug works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate and neck of the bladder, which can also affect the blood vessels, causing a decrease in blood pressure and associated dizziness.
These side effects are more likely to occur at the beginning of treatment or after an increase in dose. To minimize the risk of dizziness and fainting, it is recommended to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position and avoid sudden changes in body position.
