Jardiance contains 10 mg of empagliflozin.

The active ingredient in Invokana is canagliflozin. This drug comes in two doses: 100 and 300 mg.

Both drugs belong to a common group of SGLT2 inhibitors. This is a group of drugs that increase the excretion of glucose in the urine. The result is a reduction in glycemia, body weight and blood pressure. They are usually used in combination with metformin.

Both drugs are indicated in adults for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycaemic control as monotherapy or in combination with other hypoglycaemic medicinal products, including insulin, when their use in combination with diet and exercise does not provide adequate glycaemic control.

I would like to remind you that each of these drugs is subject to a prescription and you should not make your own decision to introduce them into therapy or use them interchangeably, even though their mechanism of action is the same.
