Olanzapine is an antipsychotic medication used to treat mental disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
Losing weight on olanzapine is much rarer than weight gain. If your daughter is experiencing weight loss, it may be related to other factors, such as decreased appetite, nausea, or other health problems.
The perception of unpleasant odors that do not originate in the environment may be associated with olfactory disorders such as parosmia. Although this is not a typical side effect of olanzapine, some antipsychotics can affect the senses, including smell. Because olanzapine is used to treat mental disorders, there may sometimes be changes in sensory perception or psychotic symptoms that affect the way we perceive external stimuli, including smells.
If new side effects of the drug appear or the current ones are intensified, I advise you to consult a doctor to adjust the dose of the drug or change it to another one more suitable for your daughter.
