According to the Summary of Product Characteristics, Contrahist is recommended to be used at a dose of 5 mg per day. Your doctor may recommend a different dosage depending on your medical condition. According to currently available information, a dose of 10 mg of levocetizine (the active ingredient in Contrahist) has been used, for example, in the treatment of urticaria. A higher dose may cause increased side effects, e.g. excessive sleepiness
