Hello, if I put on the kyleena insole on 24.04 and the last bleeding before insertion occurred on 18-22.04, does the insole work immediately? I didn't have intercourse for a week after insertion and then for a month I used additional contraception in the form of condoms, so does this IUD work immediately and so from the moment it was inserted? And how much longer should I use supplemental contraception?

The Kyleena IUD, if inserted no later than 7 days after the start of menstrual bleeding, works immediately. Your gynaecologist may recommend waiting a few days before starting intercourse. There is no need to use an additional method of contraception.
