Can leg pain, especially in the morning, be related to the Mirena IUD?
It's been 3 months since I put Mirena, it's hard to get used to it, there was severe pain, blood, smearing for the whole first month.It's been two months since my legs began to hurt, especially in the morning after sleeping. Could it be related to the Mirena IUD ( I am 52 years old)

Leg pain, especially in the morning after falling asleep, at the age of 52 may be associated with various causes, not necessarily related to the use of the Mirena IUD. However, if severe pain and bleeding, it may indicate some complications or side effects of using this contraceptive.
Mirena is a contraceptive device that releases the hormone levonogenetrel, which can cause various side effects, including leg pain. In addition, hormonal contraception, such as Mirena, may increase the risk of venous thrombosis, the symptom of which is, m.in, leg pain. Other forum users have also reported leg pain as a side effect after putting on Mirena.
I encourage you to consult the gynaecologist who inserted the Mirena IUD again to rule out possible complications or incorrect placement of the IUD. It is also worth visiting your family doctor for an examination and determination of the causes of leg pain. They may order additional tests, such as blood tests, vascular ultrasounds, or joint x-rays, to establish an accurate diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment.
