Oekolp given vaginally does not have a significant effect on the lining of the womb, so bleeding is very unlikely to occur with the medicine. Most vaginal medications should not be used during menstruation unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Bleeding of unknown etiology is a contraindication to the use of Oekolp cream. The summary of product characteristics of NuvaRing does not indicate a risk of drug interactions, including the possibility of mechanical damage to the vaginal ring.
