Axopirox is a nail polish indicated for the treatment of fungal infections of the nails (onychomycosis).

Unless otherwise advised by your doctor, a thin layer of Axopirox should be applied once daily to the affected nail.
The duration of treatment depends on the severity of the infection, but treatment should not exceed 6 months.

Before applying Axopirox for the first time, remove as much of the affected nail surface as possible, for example with scissors, and remove as much of the keratinized layer as possible with a disposable nail file.

Throughout the treatment period, the layer of nail polish should be removed once a week with an alcohol swab (available for sale, e.g. in the drugstore). During such treatment, you should remove as much keratinized layer as possible from the nail plate, always using a disposable nail file. If the nail polish layer is damaged between nail polish applications, simply reapply Axopirox to the areas where the nail polish has fallen off. After each use of the varnish, it is recommended to close the bottle carefully to prevent the solution from drying out. Avoid contact between the varnish and the neck of the bottle to prevent the cap from sticking.

Do not apply any other nail polish or any cosmetic nail products to the treated nails.
