In pharmacies it will soon be possible to get a free prescription for the "morning after pill" under the National Health Fund.
From May 2024, a pilot program for pharmacies has been launched, which gives pharmacists the opportunity to issue a free prescription for the morning after pill at a pharmacy under the National Health Fund.
A pharmacist — after a short interview with the patient — will be able to issue a free prescription for a drug with ulipristal acetate (EllaOne) provided that the woman is insured and over 15 years of age. The service will be provided in about 2 thousand pharmacies in Poland. The list of pharmacies that issue free prescriptions for the morning after pill will be published as soon as it is made public.
You can still get a prescription from your gynaecologist or a doctor of any specialty – as part of an in-person visit or online advice, e.g.
