Among the side effects that may occur in patients using Betaserc, the manufacturer mentions a high risk of nausea, and mild gastrointestinal discomfort (e.g. vomiting, stomach and intestinal pain, bloating and gas) may also occur.
Giving the drug with a meal or reducing the dose usually alleviates these symptoms.
There is no information available that Betaserc slows down metabolism and has a negative effect on the weight loss process.
