Hello, I have been taking the Augmentin antibiotic for 5 days, it was prescribed for 7 days, after the second day of using the antibiotic the symptoms went away and I did a stupid thing because on the third day I did not take a dose of the drug. The symptoms did not return, but the next day I took the antibiotic again and I take it every day, I have a question, can this one day of break cause the disease to recur after finishing the antibiotic? I only had a sore throat

It is unlikely that missing 1 dose of antibiotic will cause a relapse. Antibiotic therapy should be extended so that all doses of the drug are selected and its effect will be maintained. So instead of 7 days, the treatment will last 8 days (due to the omission of 1 day during therapy).

It may also be worth using topical remedies to soothe sore throats - lozenges, spray or mouthwash.
