If you have not used hormonal contraception before and you took the first film-coated pill on the first day of your cycle, contraceptive protection occurs on the first day after taking the film-coated pill and also lasts during the seven-day break in taking the pill.
The first film-coated tablet can also be taken between the 2nd and 5th day of menstruation, regardless of whether the withdrawal bleeding has ended or is still ongoing. In this case, additional barrier methods of contraception should be used during the first 7 days of taking the pills.
