Does touching the patch with dirty hands affect its effectiveness?

Does touching the patch with dirty hands affect its effectiveness? I dyed my hair with gloves, but when I took it off, I didn't wash my hands, I just touched the plaster, because the horn was sticking out slightly, I first lifted it to see if it was damaged, and then I pressed it hard. If I had paint on my hands, would the effectiveness be weakened? Should I replace the patch if I dyed my hair while wearing gloves? It's not dirty, the horn I'm talking about is the one at the mole

And can I leave it if it's generally holding up well, and just protect myself with a condom for this week? In general, the dye was on my hands, but before I touched the patch, I was drying my hair, so probably most of it was worn off

Yes, touching the patch with dirty hands can indeed affect its effectiveness.
It is generally recommended to wash your hands before touching the patch to prevent contamination and ensure optimal effectiveness.

Dirt, grease or paint residue on your hands can contaminate the surface of the patch, reducing its adhesion to the skin. This can lead to premature peeling off of the patch or a reduction in its tightness. Contaminants can also introduce bacteria and microbes, increasing the risk of infection where the patch is worn.

In this situation, even if you dyed your hair while wearing gloves, touching the patch with dirty hands after removing the gloves may have weakened its effectiveness. It would be best to replace the patch to make sure it is clean and adheres properly to the skin.

If you are concerned about this situation, it is always a good idea to consult a doctor who can give you more personalized advice. If you do not have the opportunity to consult your doctor, you can use the teleconsultation here:
